A standard NYS Garageman’s Lien takes about 29 days for Rapid Liens to foreclose. Assuming the debtor, finance or insurance company fails to pay the amount of your demand or come to a legally binding settlement during the statutory wait period than your Rapid Lien’s documents will give you the legal right to file with the NYS DMV for a new New York State title.
All properly licensed facilities and service providers in New York State have the legal right to place a lien on vehicle, vessel or other property in their possession for which they have performed authorized services and have subsequently not been paid for. Your lien rights entitle you to demand full payment for all services, parts and storage due to you otherwise the property can be auctioned off to recover money due.
Only the New York State Department of Motor Vehicles issues titles. Neither Rapid Liens or any other professional services firm, auction company, service provider, agency or BS artist can issue you a valid legal title. After a lien is properly foreclosed you must send your certified lien papers to the Department of Motor Vehicles for review to be legally perfected. Only upon their sanctioning will a new, clean title be issued.
